Crown Rates
The view that the, Crown should be responsible for payments of rates in full on Crown lands under occupation as owner j lessor and mortgagee and al'v on land used for do velopmental farm purposes where the land is- used by the Crown or under its authority, was expressed by Mr E. D. White 'Chairman of the Matamata County Council in a motion at the conicrcncc. of representatives of ten county councils in Tauranga last week, •when discuss--ing the question of rating of Crown properties. The motion was- seconded by Mr 11. P. Ford chairman of, the Rotorua County and carried unanimously-
