WELCOME HOME DANCE
BRIGHT TE TEKO EVENING RETURNED MEN HONOURED On Thursday night the Te Te'kc Hall was lilled to capacity the occasion being a Welcome. Home dance to the following returned men:— W. 0.11. J. Moulden, Sgn M. Harty and Pte C. Apihai Mi.M. The gathering danced gaily to the music supplied by the Rhythm Stars Orchestra (under the eonductorship of Spi W. Samuel) who were making their first appearance and acquitted themselves very well indeed. This musical combination should prove an as. set to the district. During the evening opportunity was taken by Mr C. F. Eivers, chairman of the local committee, tc welcome the men home and in doing so lie made each a presentation on behalf of the local residents. Mr A. G. Nell spoke, on behalf of the R.S.A. and expressed a wish that the returned men would join up with the Association and avail them selves of the. assistance it could afford them. Mr Butler also paid a tribute, tc the men and remarked that he was proud to say that one of his ol|fl pupils C. Apihai had brought additional honour and glory to the dis. vtr.ct by returning with a Military Medal. A Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Mr J. Moulden and partner. Mr J. Caldwell officiated as. 31.C. During the evening the Te Tekc Cattle . Dog Trial Club decided the winner tif the afternoon tea set. presented by Mrs T. B. Dunderdale the holder of tlie winning ticket was Mr H. S..Mexted No. G3O.
