RED CROSS ACTIVITIES
THE EDGECUMBE BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the Edge-cu-mbe Red Cross branch was held .in Bell's Hall on October 4. Mrs Roberts presided over a good attendance. A great deal of business was dfscussed and many motions in connection with Red Cross activities were passed. The annual donation of £5 towards Red Cross Centre and £6 towards Headquarters will be duly forwarded. The, sum of £10 has been sent to Headquarters to purchase, material to be made into general clothing for refugees, and a further sum is to be expended on winceyette for distressed family cases in New Zealand. This material will be apportioned to sub-cen-tres from Whakataiie centre. A box of clothing for refugees was packed and has been dispatched to Headquarters. A number of pamphlets, posters and booklets were, received from the Health Department to be distributed around the district. A letter was received from the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society asking members to report any cases requiring attention.
