Cr Burt asked if there was any 'barm in meeting the Borough? The Chairman: Personally I have ino objection.
Cr Luxton suggested that the rcvhole Council meet the Borough at a special meeting as there was bound to be a long discussion on the subject.
Cr McCready warned that " the jCauncil by attending such conference might get placed in an invidi--oils position. The obvious idea of the Borough Council was to place the lasso securely round the County representatives and drag them m. It ,would be needful to watch every Step! As it was the'' Council had been made a bit of a butt and had Inot been too consistent in its actions'. He declared that' he had been consistent from the word go a and if ;the Borough was only going to talk ways and means:, to the exclusipn .of finance, he was agreeable. "They understand our attitude by now" said Cr Butler. "I! don't sec. any harm in meeting them on the understanding that we will not consider finance in any shape or form. The. conference was arranged as above. Under the same heading the following resolution was received from Ithe Waimana and Nukuhou farmers •meeting: 'That this meeting support the action of the Council re aerodrome and considers that construction o'f such should be a national charge.'
