THE VICTORY LOAN

Sir } —Dedicated as we have been, as a nation in the past five years to fight for'the greatest treasure of civilisation —freedom—we are now asked for Avhat may be the final contribution to winning the cause. The Victory Loan of has been launched and by contributing to it all in the. nation will reaffirm their unified will to achieve victory in the quickest possible time. For we Members of Parliament to make an appeal to the people of our combined districts to subscribe to the loan is unnecessary; the patriotism of the people has been abundantly proved. But emphasis on the. necessity for the loan being promptly arid fully subscribed must be made. The war is not over <x although, happily victor looms ahead, brilliantly clear. When hostilities cease in Europe, the Allied forces, - including those of New Zelaland, will hurl their irresistible weight against Japan. New Zealand is in the war to the end. Moral support of our soldiers, sailors and airmen, of whom we are so proud, is not. enough. We must give, them the tools to finish their mighty job. The. loan money will help provide those tools.
