DISTRICT COMMITTEE MEETS
A quarterly meeting of the West-, ern Bay of Plenty Y.F.C. District Committee was held in Te Puke during the Mr P. Nicol, extending a warm wel-; come, to distant Numerous apologies were received. The field day held at Tauranga in June came under favourable consideration and letters of appreciation, are to be forwarded to the judges. Congratulations were extended , t& Mr J. Wright of. the Tauranga Club for the able manner in which he had delivered an address from. IYA in the Y.F.C. session recently. The ensilage competition for the Doidge Cup will have to be dropped this season 5 Mr Taylor, of the Agricultural being xmable to do any judging. Details of the Memorial Fund, quota were given by the chairman. The offer of Mr K. of Te Puna, to present a shield for inter-* club athletic competition was gratefully accepted and arrangements • will accordingly be made. The financial statement revealed that the District Committee was rather low in funds but a remedy was in the; offing. It was decided to give a cup for the annual sevena- side. football won this year by Kadkati runners-up. Mr Gordon Spratt reported on the annual meeting held at Timam in July. The meeting closed in. harmony and was followed by supper. The next meeting will be held at, Katikati on November 1.
