EIVER'S BEACH
ROAD ACCESS DESIRED
Pointing out. the growing popularity of Eiver's. Beach and the adjoining swimming pool a widely signed petition was received by the Whakatane Borough Council urging that road access should be given this spot_ on the river bank, by the removal of the fence which was now across the roadway.
The Council proved quite sympathetic, and referred the question to the works committee for mvstigation, the only comment being that the Borough did not want another 'Kirkbride's road controversy' on its hands, if it could help it-
