HOSPITAL CONTROL
NOW that the report of the investigating sub-committee has been tabled and discussed by the Hospital Board; now that 90 per cent, of the allegations have been proved groundless and the balance of small account; and now that a permanent 'Complaints Committee" has been set up, we sincerely hope that there will be an end to the unjust and unwarranted criticism which has been levelled at the institution. On the whole, the free ventilation of opinion through these columns and at the Board meetings, has* resulted in much good, and the satisfactory airing of complaints imaginary or otherwise is much to be preferred to the under-current of rumour and insinuation which unfortunately had characterised the campaign against the hospital for so long. The net result has been that those who considered there was need for investigation have now fully answered, and those who alleged slackness and other shortcomings have seen their main complaints handled fairly and eliminated one by one, whilst those who contemplate lodging future complaints have now their correct procedure to follow, and in doing so can rest assured that they will be afforded an immediate and unbiassed hearing.
