THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE FOR YOUNG READERS ONLY

What lio ? what lio, ma hearties. Well by Neptune's toenails it certainly has been, nice weather lately hasn't it. Instead of going for my morning swim at .six o'clock L have been going lor it at halt' past live these last lew mornings, it has been so sunny. Butinsky is very happy just now. He was roaming round the Island the other day with nothing to do (he mostly does have nothing to do} when he suddenly came upon a big patch of luscious kneehigh Scotch thistle. Butinsky's mouth fairly watered. He has gone there every day since for his dinner. In fact he lias eaten so many thistles that I think lie will be sick if he does not stop. I am expecting him any day to turn into a thistle down and float softly away on the breeze. Peterkin has been out digging pippics for the last two or three days. He always lias liked shell-lish but somehow he see.ms to like pippies best. He has been finding them few and far between as they all seem to have gone, back into the ocean for a spell, but Avhen he does find one he immediately sits himself down and consumes it. Well that is just about all the news from Whale Island this week so I had better batten my hatches and get on with the story. Cheerio till next weclv. P.T.W.
