FARMERS' UNION

dairy farmers, graziers, grain growers, fruit growers'- poultry farmers bee keepers and orchardists. Rule 3 paragaph C states: "Farm employees who have been employed on a farm for over three months immediately prior .to admission and who are not of or contribute to any Society whose a'ans and objects are inimical to the farming community-" , Each member of the organisation is entitled to one vote only, it be> ing purely democratic, as no member can hold executive rank unless lie is elected from his branch. In view of the chaotic situation facing the primary producer to-day owing to the confiscation of the producers proceeds; by the Government in power, in depriving him of that which all other sections of the community enjoy, that is, h'is full return for services rendered. I appeal to all owners and sharemilkers toget into the only organisation that stands for the protection of all farming interests. Make your Union 100 per cent strong by joining up, then we can face this Government or any other party in power with confidence and assurance in demanding ccmaion justice. Yours etc., E. J. WHYTE, Organiser N.Z.F.U. Bay of Plenty. Whakatane, 8/8/44.

Six-,—For the benefit of farmers and employees who are not familiar with the. Platform and Rules of the N.Z< Farmers' Union, I desire to make the necessary information known, so that every one engaged in farming pursuits when joining the Union are acquainted with their position as ordinary members. There is a statement in circulation in this district to the effect that a sharemilker or farm worker has no voting power whatever, he has no say at meetings etc., in virtue of the fact that he is not an owner of property in land. I make no hesitation in contradicting this statement, ifc it absolutely untrue and has n<» foundation at all. The aims and objects of the N.Z. Farmers' Union are—to foster the interests of. all farmers, including sheep farmers,.
