Skim and grass plus Tomoana meatmeal, plus barley meal, polard and moosemeal. Prize Money Totals £407 10/The competition was promoted in January/February with the object of encouraging the production of baconer pigs in, the autumn. The weight of pigs when entered in February was not more than 1201bs liveweight—it is estimated that the average carcase weight if killed then would have, been 701bs. The average carcase weight of competition pigs, actually killed at Wcstfield is 112.22 lbs.—the total value £5629 12s 6d. The value at all three sections of the. competition was £9808. Disease; Less than 1% per cent, condemned. Root and Crop Feeding: The principal varieties fed in the different sections of the competition were: — Northland: 7 competitors led maize; 5 swedes; 4 pumpkins. Auckland: 14 fed maize; 9 sugar beet; 7 swedes. Waikato: 17 led swedes; 7 pumpkins: 5 carrots. Bay of Plenty: 11 fed swedes; 4. carrots; 3 maize; 2 pumpkins.
