HOSPITAL PATIENTS SATISFIED

VISITING COMMITTEES REPORT

"We visited the ho6pital about a fortnight ago," said Mr J. MulHns at the meeting of the Whakatane Hospital Board yesterday, "and in fairness to the staff and the management, I can say that 'though we spoke to the majority of patients, and* contrary to our expectations, -we received not one complaint."

He added that he had heard all sorts of things outside, but was agreeably surprised to find in conversation with the patients that many of them were enthusiastic about the treatment they received and were particularly appreciative of the. heated food trollies.

Mr Caulfield the other member of the 'visiting committee' agreed that it was a pleasure to make the rounds. He had personally known some of the patients and learned from them that they were excellently treated.

In moving that the report be received, the chairman' said he was very glad to hear the speakers making the tributes they had. He himself had upon occasions sought unobtrusively to find out what patients thought of the hospital and had almost invariably found that they were favourably inclined towards the doctor and the staff, any minor complaints being due to; the overcrowding.
