THE "GOOD ENDEAVOUR" LEAGUE

What ho what ho, ma hearties. Well I had the greatest surprise yesterday. You'll never guess what happened. is not dead after all. I'll tell you how II found him. I was wandering around the island finding out how much damage. had been done to it by the earthquake when suddenly I heard some faint bleats coming from under a pile of trees and rocks at a corner of the beach. I immediately -went over to see what it Avas, and what do you think I saw. There, was Butins'ky. When he was carried over the edge of (the cliff by the avalarn che he must have fallen into the sea and been washed up on the beach. I' think he must have crawled to the place II found him because there are marks leading there, along the sand. He has a broken leg but otherwise, he is all right. I took him up to the cave and gave him a feed, put a couple of splints, on his leg and bandaged it up,, and now lie is quite, happy. It is just as well after all that I did teach him to swim when I did. Butinsky was a funny kind of goat. When T first got him he had no more idea of swimming than of Hying. However, I perservercd with him, although he didn't like it at all, tilll he was able to swim reasonably well, lit is just as well I did or he might, have drowned instead of being able to keep afloat till he was washed up.. I am very glad indeed to have him back. Well I must close; now and get on with the story. Till next week„ cheerio. P.T.W.
