EDGECUMBE RED CROSS

SUB-CENTRE ACTIVITIES

The- monthly meeting of the Edgecurabe Sub-Centre of the Red Cross was held in Bell's Hall on Wednesday,. July 3. Mrs Roberts presided over a fair attendance. The secretary, Mrs Jesperson, read the minutes'and a good deal of business, financial and otherwise was discussed. Several pairs of pyjamas and dressing gowns were returned by members ready to be sent away for sick and wounded. In view of inquiries made regarding the sewing machine- owned by the Edgecumbe Sub-Centre, it was decided to make a small charge per day for use of I the machine.

The recent canvass made by members for "Allied Nations Appeal" resulted in the very satisfactory sum of £36 13s being collected.
