RESULT OF LOCAL EFFORT
WORK OF RED CROSS The appeal sponsored by the New Zealand Red Cross Society in Whakatane on behalf of the Polish Red Cross in the week 12th-17th June realised the. splendid sum of over £183. There are a few amounts that have been promised but are not yet to hand, and particulars: will be published later when the full sum has been received. The Red Cross Committee wish to express their grateful thanks to the many persons and business firms who gave so generously in cash or kind to help this very deserving cause. Their thanks are due, too, to the many who worked hard, and the public who responded so readily to the appeal.
