Snow Capped Peaks The recent cold spell of weather has caused citizens to regularly study the mountain ranges in the immediate vicinity of the Whaka-k. tane district for signs of snow. Their search has not been entirely in vain.*. Mt. Tarawera has received a g®o<L-' cap whilst from Oliope, a gooil view*of the mantle on the East Coast ranges can be seen. Mt. is also standing out prominently; against. the blue of the skyline.
