DANCE AT OTAKIRI

PTE. HAROLD REVELL WELCOMED HOME A large section of» the dancing public turned out at Otakiri on* Thursday evening to welcome home Pte. Harold Revgll who has recently returned from the Pacific. The dance was sponsored by the: Otakiri Farewell and Welcome Home Committee and was an unqualified success.. The Gaiety Boys supplied first class rhythm while Mr O. Lord fulfilled the position of M.C. The floor was in first class condition and the hall decorations were a credit to the men of the Patriotic Committee. Half way through the evening Mrs Woodberry, on behalf of. the ladies of Otakiri made a presentation to Pte Revell while Mr Kedgley and Mr W. J. Murray officially welcomed the guest. • Towards the. close of the evening, an excellent supper was served by a ladies' committee, all patrons voting it to be one of the best yet. The winners of novelty dances were as under: Monte. Carlos, Miss Dawn Armstrong and Mr Len Hunt-' er; Mr Bill Guish and partner. A competition which was drawn during the evening was won by Mr B. Payne.
