SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION A vcrj' successful dance was held by the Labour Party at "the Caledonian Hall 011 Wednesday evening, a large section of the dancing public of Whakatane being present. The hall ay as nicely decorated i'or the occasion by a ladies' committee who oi:;o served the supper. Mr "Snowy" Major ay as. the M.C. ;\nd performed the duties attached to tills posit.on in his usual capable manner, the re. being never a dull moment from start to finish. The music. AvhL'h was .supplied by a local orchestra was lir.st class. Novelty dance, ay Timers Avere as under: Statue Waltz, Miss Thomasson and partner: Monte Carlo, Mrs Tunui and partner. The popular winner of the competition which Avas drawn was Mr J. Cassin.
