THOUGHTLESS RIDERS

DAMAGE TO LAWNS HORSES IN BOROUGH Numbers of complaints have been received regarding the damage done by horses which have been thoughtlessly ridden over street lawns and gardens in several parts of the borough. Residents who have taken a pride in the road appearance of their homes by laying down a strip of lawn, and installing a boundary garden complain most bitterly of the damage which has resulted. The horses are apparently ridden without respect for the improvements which may have been made, and one of the Avorst instances which, a BEACON repi'esen tative was called to inspect, showed just how a Avellkept lawn could be ripped to pieces by a horse, evidently ridden at full speed. Riders are asked to give more thought to the work of others and to keep their horses on the road.
