LOCAL ELECTIONS
NOMINATIONS RECEIVED
KEEN HOSPITAL CONTEST
The nominations for countylocal bodies closed yesterday and reveal an interesting state of affairs. The keenest contest is without a doubt that for the seven seats on the Whakatane Hospital Board for which there are no less than twelve nominations. No ejection will be necessary for the Power Board nor the Whakatane Harbour Board as the nominations do not exceed the number required.
Three ridings in the County will see an election—Galatea, Matata and Tarawera. Nominations/ Avith the names of new contestants followed by an asterisk are as under:— (1 seat) Tauranga Harbour Board— Matata Riding Member: R. Wilson.
