The competitions for the spring

Jet-Propelled Engine Group Captain Frank Whittle, inventor of the jet-propulsion engine for fighter aircraft, was recently pomoted to a wing-commander in the Royal Air Force. Captain Whittle was 14 years developing his; idea. His first engine ran successfully in 1937.
