SLOW PLAYERS If players are held up through the fairway because of a lost ball, please signal following players to go through. Now that the membership is greater, and more players, are out. and the days are shortening, speed in between shots is desired. Do not dawdle on the greens. Players who signal others to go through must not commence play until those they've let through have passed on. If you're a slow pair, and a fast pair is following, please let them through. There's nothing more disconcerting on golf courses than to" have golf balls landing on you like a barrage. Either, quicken up, or let. them through. HANDICAPS ' It's very difficult for the handicapper to allot handicaps without knowing the players performances. He has, however, placed beginners on the limit of 28 and- old players on 24. Should a player, however, improve and hand in better rounds and win too many events, his handicap would be reduced accordingly.
