Robbing watermelon patches may be an agreeable pastime but. it often turns out an expensive one also, as two young men, Harry Chase and George Pakeha found to their cost on Monday last before' Messrs C. H. Christenseni and J. King, when they were jointly charged with damaging a watermelon crop valued at £4 19s 6d the property of Jhe Tuteao Hall Te Teko, on February 5 of this year. Each was fined £2 and ordered to pay half the damage.
