ROWING CLUB
RIYETT TROPHY RACES
The Wha'katane Junior Rowing Club is staging a special competition on Sunday next, commencing at. 2 p.m. It is hoped to run four races for the Rivett Trophy, and keen competition is anticipated between mixed crews. The programme will include a novel event in the form of a veteran's race' in which two teams of rowing enthusiasts will compete for the Junket Shield Trophy offered for the Head of the River Championship. It will certainly be a singular honour for the team which collects this although it will' probably cause quite a stir when it is. presented The veterans! include the following names: Messrs B. S. Barry, J. D. Rivett, W. S; Henderson, Joe Gattsclie, Rex Morpeth, Allen Fisher, W. Smith and C. Kingsley-Smith. Afternoon tea will be provided, and the public are cordially invited to attend the meeting which should be highly interesting and entertaining.
