NUKUHOU DANCE
ASSISTING COMFORTS FUNDS
A .successful and happy dance was licld at Nuluihou North in the school last Friday evening. The profits of the function are to go to the comforts funds for loea! service nienThc music for dancing was played by Mrs November's hand and extras wore played by Miss A. 1 In(T and Mrs King, and Mr F. Sterling made ji most efficient M.C. The novelty dances, such as .Monte Carlos, Confetti and Broom dances were much enjoyed. A dinne# for competition was won by Mr N. Eagle (No. -10) and a watermelon "Was' won by Mrs X. .T- C. Macdon sild. During the evening Mr Mactlonald took the opportunity of making a presentation to Trooper Trevor Savage, who was the guest of the evening. The speaker asked h'nn to accept a cheque from the residents of Nukuhou with their best wishes for his future days. Trooper Savage most ably responded, thanking all for the gift, and evening which was greatly appreciated. A group of Maoris then gave a Maori farewell action song, which was greatly enjoyed. A dainty supper was served by the ladies of the Social Committee and dancing continued until a late hour.
