Sergeant Pagan reacted, smartly. Hurling his unwelcome visitor out Avith a mighty heave he grabbed a tommy gun to finish oil' the Japanese, but fright added .speed to the Japanese's legs, and he disappeared in the darkness. His escape Ayas shortlived, lor running out of the frying-pan into the (ire. he careered over a 50ft cliff and Avas killed in the fall.
