BOROUGH ROLL CLOSES THIS MONTH
A.LL residents within the borough of Whakatane are reminded that the roll to be used at the local body elections to be held next} May will close on Monday, 31st January. Those persons entitled to be enrolled are ratepayers and their husbands or their wives, as the case may be. and all other residents who are 21 years of age and who have resided for at least twelve months in New Zealand and three months in the borough and are British subjects by birth or by naturalisation. As the roll has been purged since the last election of mayor, councillors, hospital board and power board representatives, all who are entitled to be enrolled should ascertain without delay if their names still appear on the roll. There is no connection between the borough roll and the one used at the last parliament*ary elections. A supplementary roll will be established after the above date. Forms of enrolment are obtainable at the office of the Borough Council.
