Striking proof of the destruction and dislocation the air war lias brought to Germany is provided by the schemc. for emergency homes, says the London Times. Ley, in announcing details 1 of the scheme, said that berore. the air war there were 92.,000,000 rooms: for 89.000,000 inhabitants in Greater Germany, and that of these roughly 2,000'000 rooms had been destroyed. The bungalows for the. bombed arc to consist of a living room and a bedroom. The living room will be used by the parents as a bedroom. The building materials are. to. be mass-produced in factories, and the .slabs are put together. Ley explains, as "the pieces! of a meccano set" are. Production of the. slabs has. however, only just begun, and therefore a certificate to build, will be granted.
