SHOUTING "BOO"
INSTANCES IN THE JUNGLE INDIGNANT AUSTRALIAN SCOUT Shouting ''Boo!" may be a quaint old. custom with some peculiar significance among the Sons of Heaven. The speculation is prompted by two instances of it reported in one day by men of the A.Ii.F. in New Guinea. Bill Woods, of Queensland, killed eight Japs, in an attack on a post, but lie. came out of the rumpus a very indignant man. "Ii came round the; corner and one silly Jap. cow out his arms and yelled 'Boo' at me. What do they think we. are?" But a 'Boo' in reverse worked. An Australian scout came face to face with a Jap. on a winding i jungle track. His Owen machinegun jammed so lie screamed "Boo!" The Jap. r&n for his life v but he didn't win. The gun worked again before he was out of range!
