YOUNG MAN GAOLED
INCIDENT IN FfSHSJIOP
Before Messrs C. H. Christciisen and J. G. Mulholl'and; J.P's, a young man Mervyn l Janies Roland Vallily, pleaded guilty to having used obscene language and behaved in a disorderly manner. Sergeant. Fan-ell prosecuting said that defendant entered a lisli restaurant liist Saturday evening at about (J. 3- and. objected to tlie quality of the meal which was served him. He refused to pay for it and from the argument which lie had with the proprietor, trouble developed and he made use of the language complained of. Apart from his weakness.for drink, said Sergeant Farrcll, he was a good worker and there was already a prohibition order against him. Vallily from the. dock complained that the meal had been inferior, that lie. had already paid for it once and objected to paying for it a k second time. ; On the first count lie was convicted and discharged and on the second be was sentenced 1 to' one months imprisonment in the. Whakatane gaol.
