Hillcrest Cemetery

At the meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council last Monday evening it was mentioned that plots in the new ccmctcry on Hillcrest might have to be used any time in the near future, owing to the full, utilisation of the Domain Road area.. The town clerk reported that th<J approaches to the new cemetery had not j r et been metalled and the position would become most urgent, un* less: this was carried out in the near future. The County Council had stated that it could not carry out this work immediately but would* endeavour to do so at the first op* port unity.
