A further day's play in the Clarke Shield places three teams level with ten points each. Central registered a convincing 2 point win over Taneatua whilst. Waimana and United played a drawn game' in a high scoring game. Next week Central will play United at Wlinkatane and Waimana play Taneatua at Taneatua.The Taneatua team failed bad-

ly at Edgecumbe, to be dismissed for 21 and 18 respectively. There 1 was a different story however at Wliakatanc where over 300 runs were scored". Wa\mana won the toss and elected to bat. Miller and Axtens opened well' and had on the board before a good ball from Spring dismissed Axtens. Miller and 11. Wavdlaw cemented a stoong partnership of 91 runs before Miller Avas caught, having compiled a steady 58. Harry WardlaAV reached 60 before going to one from McKenzie. At lunch Waimana had four down for 164 but wickets fell quickly after the adjournment and the side AA T as all out for 185. Foced Avith such a score and only hours of play United went in to bat. The first wicket fell at 47 and Spring and McKenzie carried, the score to 119 at stumps when McKenzie was caught attempting a big hit. Spring's innings of Gii not out was a sound display whilst Mc-« Kenzie's 40 was registered in quick time.
