Now lying in: hospital in a critical condition, a youth, Neil Butler, of Awakeri, was found by a passing' motorist in the early hours of Saturday morning in an unconscious condition on the main highway leading to Awakeri. The motorist Mr Orr, of Olakirij states that tlie young man was lying on the roadway,, obviously seriously hurt, about 1.30 a.m. He was brought into the Whaliatane Hospital where he was found to be suffering from extensive injuries of a serious nature.. He remained in an unconscious condition all Saturday when it was decided to perform au urgent operation. He was still in a state of coma yesterday and; his condition this morning was reported as critical.
