In view of the approaching holiday season when, even in spite a£ petrol restrictions additional traffic is to be expected on the roads, the amendment to traffic regulations appearing below should be of interest to drivers.
The following clause, is substituted for Clause (> of Regulation 11 of thes principal regulations, and reads:—
"Ivvery driver of a motor vehicle when approaching or crossing any uncontrolled. intersection—that is.to say, any intersection at which, trafr fie is not for tJie time, being', controlled by a police: officer, traffic inspector, traffic control lights, or the presence of a compulstory-stop sign ■ —which any other vehicle (inclusive of trams.) is approaching or cross-! ing shall give way to such other vehicle and allow the same to pass before him, aiul if necessary for that purpose, stop his vehicle in any. of the following circumstances:— ''(ii) If such other vehicle (not being a train or horse-drawn vehicle) is approaching from his right unless such other vehicle is about to turn or is turning to its. right, and the said driver is not himself about to turn or is turning to his right; or "(J)) M' such other vehicle (being a tram) is approaching from any direction; or "(c) If such is about to turn or is turning to his right (thus being, an obligation to give the appropriate signal prescribed by(3) of the next, succeeding regula-jf tion). "No driver of a motor- vehicle* shall increase the speed of his vehicle -when approaching any uncontrolled intersection under the cir--1 cumstanccs set out in this clause."
