CONTROL OF RAGWORT
WORK IN THE COUNTY
SUMMARY FOR MONTH
Dealing with the work of ragwort elimination which is now being carried out in the Whakatane County the engineer stated that in his last report to the County Council as under: — "Work on the control of the spread of ragwort on unindividualised Native and Crown lands was commenced in October. Some. 1U men are employed at Tc Teko, 10 at Poroporo and 5 at Waimana in cutting only. No material has arrived yet though some sodium is expected in December. So far the Poroporo, Pahou and Pckatahi areas have been covered by the Whakatane gang and areas on both sides of the Rangitaiki River between Te. Teko and Edgeeumbe by the Te Teko gang.
