FAT STOCK PRICES
PRODUCTION OF MORE MEAT
Negotiations regarding the schedule prices for fat stock for tha 1943/44 season which have been proceeding between the Government anil the New Zealand Meat Producers Board have now been completed. Full details of the priccs arranged have been announced in the. press. The urgent need for producing and shipping more meat was the paramount consideration underlying these discussions, and in fixing schedule. prices adjustments were made in the values of certain weight grades \yith a view to encouraging, the production of a greater weight. Having regard to the. importance and urgency of this matter Board strongly appeals to all farmers in the Dominion to do everything possible to increase therweights of all types of export fatk stock in order to assist in meetings the pressing nqeds of the Un'-ted Kingdom. In this connection, it is the Board's intention to obtain all possible assistance and co-operation from the Primary Production. Councils, the N.Zrf Farmers l ' Union, the N vieepowners' Federation, and: Stock and Station Agents out the Dominion.
