CUBS CAMP
WEEK-END AT OHOPE
BATHING AND EXPLORING
Thirty-one members of the Whakatanc Wolf. Cub Pack journeyed to Ohopc last Saturday to take part in the. first cub camp heild for some years. The; boys were under the control of D.S.M. Miller, Mrs Miller and Cubmistress L. Dean, who were in turn assisted by six Patrol leaders from the Citizens and Scottish Scout troops. Fine weather favoured the eventin fact too fine, from some points of view for the sunbathing which many of the lads indulged in must have given their mothers a headache or two when they returned home safely on Sunday evening.
A tramp to one of the numerous Pah sites was the main attraction on Saturday afternoon while the regulation camp fire followed a plentiful tea in the evening. A short religious scrviee was taken by the Rev. J. G. Laughton on Sunday morning after which the boys spent the hours in bathing and rambling in the bush. The committee once again is deeply grateful to those who assisted bj' way of donations of bread, vegetables and supplies and is particularly indebted to the Presbyterian Church authorities for the use; of the two bungalows.
