BUSINESS SECTIONS OFFERING
PURCHASERS MUST BUfLl}
Reporting to the Whakatanc Harbour Board last Friday the secretary, Mr C. G. Lucas, stated that there were three lots still available for lease in the Strand extension subdivision, such being Sections 1 and 2. Section 5 adjoined the premises at present leased by the Board to Mr J. D. R'ivett. There had been several enquiries over the last year for these sections, and the Board was asked to consider whether .such should be offered for lease at the usual upset rental of £10 as soon as the. roadline had been amended in front of the lots. The position of the roadline was necessary on account of, the alteration to the frontage of the post o-ffi.ee site.
The chairman said the only thing he wanted to safeguard against was speculation by purchasers who had no intention of building.
On the motion of Cr Hunteri the Board decided to advertise the sections for sale,, purchasers to give, a bond to the cffcct that they would be jjiepaiod tu cicci a buiuiir.g to cost not less than £2000 as soon as the Building Controller permitted. Farther that no transfer of the lease be permitted unless the building had been erected.
