Arrears of Rates When discussing arrears of rates at the November meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council, the chairman, Mr G. W. Parfltt, asked a councillor what should he. done with a settler in his riding who was in arrears with his rates. "The same as was being done to others/' was the reply. "What! Write it off?" questioned the chairman. /No," replied the councillor, "ruh it in!"
