FINE TRIBUTE
DISABLED SOLDIER CRAFTSMEN LETTER FROM LADY FREYBERG A letter ha% been received from Lady Freyberg expressing her ap-i preciation for the Association's gift of a paua shell necklet which Was; handed to General Freyberg during his recent visit to New Zealand. Lady Freyberg wrote: "1 should be very grateful if you would be kind enough to express: to members of. the N.Z.R.S.A., and particularly to the Disabled Ex-Ser-viceinen, who, I understand, made the lovely necklace, how much touched and delighted I am both at their thought to me and at the necklace itself. "I have always admired the Paua Shell, but 1 could never have imagined that it could be so delicately and so finely set. Both the design and the. workmanship of the necklace are so unusual, it is certain that the men who have made it are true craftsmen and must have been trained jewellers to have been able
to produce such perfect workmanship. T have already worn the necklace two or three times. and, everywhere it has excited widespread ad-, miration, but, above all, I would like everyone concerned to know how much this present has meant to me and how proud, I' feel that the members of the R.S.A. should have thought of me and expressed their feelings in this truly wonderful way. "My true thanks to all those, who have joined in sending me such a real and precious New Zealand possession."
