WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
MEETING AT OTAKIRI The Otakiri Women's Institute held iis meeting in the Otakiri Hall on Thursday, November 4th, Mrs Armstrong presided over a good attendance. As Mrs F. Mayo, our delegate to the Federation meeting, was unavoidably ab-. sent, Mrs Armstrong read her report. After the routine business. Mrs P. Jessup read a paper on vegetable, growing. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Cobden and Woodberry, after which Mrs Peck gave a demonstration on the making of floral shoulder sprays. The roll call, War Economy Hints, brought forth some useful information. Mrs: Morrison then delighted the company with several solos.
The competition winners were.: — Girdle Scones, Mrs Mackrell 1; Mrs Missen 2; Mrs Peck 3. Best six articles for home medicine chest, Mrs Missen 1; Mrs W. Murray 2; Mrs Manteil 3. Best llower, Mrs Missen 1; Mrs Winters 1 2 and 3. Best vegetable, Mrs W. Mayo 1; Mrs Murray 2; Mrs Peck 3.
