Statistics also sliow that more deaths from snake-bite occur in Queensland than in any other State. Western Australia is the healthiest State, as far as the snake

Snakes are almost the only Australian pest that were not introduced by the white man in his wis-. dom(?) Sparrows, starlings, prickly pear, rabbits, thistles, dingoes, and foxes were all brought into Australia to challenge the snake's claim to be the great Australian pest.
