Society have I W jJj h played a big part in providing finance for home building in this Dominion. From the collective premium payments Tp £4,587,323 is invested in private mortgages. The result: — more and better housing for New Zealand workers. In pre-war days many important developments in this country were assisted by A.M.P. policy-holders' funds — over £9,000,000 being now invested in Municipal Securities as well as many millions in Government Stocks. The A.M.P. Society takes a natural pride in the fact that, over the years, its members (who own it) have so built up its strength that it now (1943) has nearly £18,000,000 invested in New Zealand and Local Government Loans. In addition it has placed at the Government's disposal for War purposes over £3,000,000 pounds in New Zealand. The Society has now (1943) lent over £51,000,000 to the Australian and New Zealand Governments and is adding to this total about £500,000 every month.
