Mr G. .1. Park, af: the meeting of the Auckland Provincial Executive of the New Zealand I'arm- 1 ers' Union on October 20. The report stated that tentative resolutions affirming the desirability of establishing a college within easy reach of Auckland were passed. It was also considered advisable., subject to confirmation at a later meeting, the report stated. that should a college be established there 1 should not be any specialised course;' in State post-primary schools, in Auckland} and that the governing board, should be representative mainly of bodies interested in agricultural education. The provincial, as well as the city point of view, was discussed. Mr Park staled that at present a total of L")l students ol' agriculture were, at the Technical College, the Mount Albert Crammar School and the Otaluihu Technical School. He considered that at least :*(><) pupils would be needed to make the. proposed college a success, lit was stated that it was thought that a considerable portion of the initial capital cost would- be met by the Government, ami that assistance might be obtained from the old. Supreme Court site endowment monies. Aid from the Auckland Education Board., the Auckland Grammar School Board, and, the Seddon Memorial Technical College Board also might lv; invited. The. meeting agreed, in regard to control of the College) that a special advisory body would be advisable, and that it should consist of representatives of the Auckland University College, the Auckland Grammar School Board, the Seddon Memorial Technical Board, the Far- | rivers' Union (Auckland Province), and the Auckland A. and P. Association. Details as to the location of the College and the area of land required, were deferred for consideration at the. next meeting. The President of the Farmers' Union (Captain 11. M. Buslnvorth) and - the Assistant Secretary (Mr A. T. > Don) are the representatives of the ?
