4*. NO. 35 SQUADRON WHAKATANE A change has taken place in the command of the above squadron, Mi .F M. Abbott having resigned. The squadron will in future be commanded by Mr S. Whit worth, who Avill have Mr F. V. C. Haynes ai his adjutant. All intending applicants should now with either of the above officers, or in writing addressed to "Officer Commanding, No. 35 Squadron, Whakatane," or attend the. Wednesday evening parade, held in the Winter Show Building's, at 7.30 p.m. Recent regulations raise the age group to include cadets between the ages of 18. and 20 years. These will be expected to attend A.T.C. training camps for one month per annum in the R.N.Z.A.F. in lieu of Tern ritorial Training Camps. On being called up for service by ballot the A.T.C. cadets will have an excellent opportunity of volunteering and being accepted by the R.N.Z.A.F. in one of its various branches. New recruits are urgently wanted. Age IG-20 years. This, gives all boys an opportunity of getting the. necessary- Technical or other train-; ing in their own district. Facilities arc also available for attending courses of instruction and visiting R.N.Z.A.F. stations. (Loss of wages, and travelling expenses., will be compensated by A.T.C. rates or pay. Joining the A.T.C. docs not bind a cadet to entry to the R.N.Z.A.F.
