SANCTITY OF SABBATH
A warning to people to guard against any further encroachments on the sanctity of the Sabbath was issued by the Rev. (>. S. O. Gibson, vicar of Tauranga, in his report to the annual meeting of parishioners of Holy Trinity Church. "1 am convinced that we Christian people need to be alive to the ever-tin creasing belittling of Sunday" he said. "For many years we have seen encroachments on the sanctity of the Lord's Day. The Avar is being used as a reason for still more encroachments. "To some people, the. worship of God can apparently be put into cold storage for the duration,," Mr Gibson continued. "1 say very definitely that, if Ave dp not take a stand soon, there will soon be very little left to stand for. On'y a supreme and blind optimist can think that we will automatically recover the lost ground quite easily when the Avar is over. We Avill not. We Avill have discarded one of the planks not only of the Christian Church, but also of the British nation/'
