VALEDICTORY
MR AND MRS JACK PARTRIDGE Two -well known and worthy citizens, who have amply pulled their weight in. the town's affairs socially and in the sporting world are Mr and Mrs Jack Partridge who leave; shortly for Palmcrston North where Mr Partridge has been tansfcrred to the local baneh of the Union Bank. At a recent social gathering they were, the guests of Mr and Mrs J. Whitehead of Salonika Street, where a number of their immediate friends gathered to do them honour. The levelling passed mainly in Flag 500 | the prize winners being Mrs H. Armstrong and Mr Jack Riddell. At a suitable interval Mr Rex Morpeth presented the guests with a hanging mirror Wishing them both luck, and happiness in their new surroundings and conveying to them the goodwill of their Whakatane friends. Mrs Whitehead presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs Partridge. Responding 'Jack' expressed his regret at leaving the town where both he and his wife, had spent-so many happy years. The evening culminated with a dainty ..supper served by the ladies present. Those present included Mr and Mrs Jack Partridge; Mr and Mrs Rex Morpeth; Mr and Mrs Chas. Arm-* strong; Mr and Mrs Jack Riddell; Mr and. Mrs Reeve Canning; Mr and Mrs L. Spring; Mr and Mrs Jack Whitehead; Mr Alan Morpeth; Mrs 'Bryan Butler; Mrs Len Grose; Mrs Karry Armstrong; Mrs Stock; Mr Alan Fisher.
