LAST WEEK'S COMPETITION
TEN KIDDLES Well now, Is had many a chuckle over the answers 1 received to this competition. Some of tliem were really good—others missed, altogether. il do wish you would stop spelling 'mirror' as mirrow. That error cost many of you points. Here were the questions with their correct answers:— What has eyes and cannot see?—A potato.'. What has legs and cannot walk? —A table, or chairs, or beds etc. What can be seen when il has cover on?—A book. What tells you how you look without talking?—A mirror. What is always found in pairs?—■ Pants, braces, eyes, scissors or so on. What grows larger when you take from it?—A hole.
What is full of holes and yet holds water?—A sponge. What is, both a day and. a fruit? —A date. What lias pains and does not ache? —A Avindow. Why does a soldier wear brass buttons on his eoat?—To keep his coat done up. The winners were: — Diana Cockburu Gaie Hamill These two had. all the answers right. Some of you only answered S or 9 such as Fay Rawson and Noel Prince, others put 'Fruit Sundae' in answer to No. 8 'which was quite good and therefore judged as correct. Zoe Symons slipped on No. 10 by saying that the buttons were regulation, which again was right of course, but Avatch your spelling lass. Any lioav Congrats to the win-, ners.
