JOHN JOINTLY) 1914/18 GREAT WAR (Auckland Centre) "SICK AND WOUNDED" FUND In response to the advertisements inserted by the Committee in 1942 and in July last, eleven hundred applications for financial assistance were received from ex-members of the NEW ZEALAND EXPEDITIONARY FORCE GREAT WAR 1911/18; more than half were granted assistance. The Committee is prepared to receive, applications from RETURNED MEN, DEPENDANTS OR NURSES OF THE 191-1 4 8 GREAT WAR, RESIDENT ANYWHERE IN THE AUCKLAND PROVINCE, who are in necessitous circumstances and who have not applied hitherto for assistance from this fund and who are suffering disability or injuries directly as the result of their 19.14/18 War service. All ease* are determined on the dual basis ot war incapacity and economic necessity. Applicants after being visited will bo replied to further only if assistance is authorised.
