CHURCHMAN & SALESMANSHIP

Sir,—Being only an occasional visitor to your charming town Churchman's reply to my letter has just been brought to my notice and I would appreciate the opportunity o? replying. My letters appeared in the city papers and were copied from that source and were not in-, tended to hurt the feelings of dynamic Christians but to wake up complacent Churchman to the terrible facts that still confront our nation. We have had 200Q years of Christianity and with all our Sunday Schools, Churches and devoted teachers the word God is seldom heard- outside the precincts of a Church except as a figure of specch. Does not that prove that Churchman has failed this generation and must use new methods flic same as any other undertaking that is losing its business —for the theologian cannot satisfy the enquiring mind of our young people and must become more practical. Your correspondent Churchman has the goods and the clients it follows that the failure must be his salesmanship. Yours etc., BRITISHER.
